SUMMARY:Mercer & Johnson
DESCRIPTION:  \n \n  \nLive at the Station at the Midwestern! \n  \nBrock Johnson and s.mercer.  Mercer and Johnson. The duo put their first recordings online for free in June of 2010. They immediately took off to find places that would let them play\, as often as possible\, logging thousands of downloads and hundreds of thousands of miles. \nThe band has shared stages with\, or opened for established acts and up and comers like… Billy Joe Shaver\, Hayes Carll\, Sara Watkins\, the Turnpike Troubadors\, Robbie Fulks\, Mike McClure\, Mountain Sprout\, J.P. Harris  and the Ben Miller Band. They quickly found out nobody cares who you’ve opened for. \nThe band uses a mix of traditional string-band instrumentation on their recordings\, to craft songs that vary in origin from traditional style ballads and up-tempo numbers\, to songs influenced by singer-songwriters and modern indie rock. \nLive\, the two feature mostly mandolin and bass in a stomping shouting manner that people find enjoyable\, yet puzzling. The puzzle is the mandolin\, which they often mistake for a wide variety of other instruments. \nThe two have released several recordings\, an out of print cd e.p. called “Oregano”\, the digital-only release “Road Noise”  a self-titled full length and a full length named “Too”.

SUMMARY:Jakes Leg
DESCRIPTION:  \nJakes leg LIVE at the Station! \nDeadheads in St. Louis know Jake’s Leg.  The band has been providing music for the scene for over 43 years\, playing thousands of shows to generations of like-minded fans who just wanna keep on dancin’.  Maybe you’ve heard them in some dumpy little bar like the old Twenty North or at Busch Stadium: they’ve played ’em all and continue to do so on a regular basis.  And the band keeps growing. \nStarted as a duo by guitarists and vocalists Randy Furrer and Tim Fahy in the mid-1970s\, lead guitarist Dave Casper soon joined the fold.  Players were added and the music grew\, friends came and went.  Some of them had 10-year-or-longer stints with Jake’s Leg\, which is a long career for most non-touring rock bands.  Bassist Joe Trunko came on board in 1990\, followed in 1991 by keyboardist Bill Noltkamper\, completing the core four that have been playing and singing together for the past 26 years. Ryan Wilhite\, after a short stint as percussionist\, took over the drum kit in 2005.  The sum of this is one of the longest-lasting bands in the country that plays a whole lot of your favorite songs and you’ll find them playing in and around St. Louis.

SUMMARY:Beth Bombara
DESCRIPTION:  \nBeth Bombara\, Live at the Station! \nWith a folksinger’s head and a rocker’s heart\, Beth Bombara has built her career on an evolving sound that blurs the lines between genres. To those who make their living onstage\, she’s a musician’s musician — a road warrior who writes her own exemplary material\, plays multiple instruments\, and fronts her own band\, often a duo with her husband. With 2017’s ‘Map & No Direction\,’ Bombara’s songs take aim at a larger audience with melodic hooks that showcase a love not only for roots-rock\, but the irresistible punch of classic pop\, too.
