Michael “Big Mike” Aguirre has been a champion of the St. Louis music scene for over 20 years. At the tender age of 19, before cell phones, Youtube, and a 21+ ID, he ventured alone into the urban communities surrounding St. Louis to learn directly from generations of elder blues and soul musicians rightfully regarded as legends within the historic St. Louis music tradition. Welcomed, initiated and adopted into the Old School St. Louis music family, he paid his dues as a full-time guitarist-for-hire, performing nightly, sitting in alongside dozens upon dozens of veteran performers, immersing himself in a diverse musical and cultural environment. developing chemistry with an entire city full of musicians, and earning a reputation, song by song, set by set, night after night as a bonafide musician and entertainer.
